22: 迟到的朋友
Late Friends

Dinner with Sean was not the only appointment on Molly's schedule for that Saturday. She also had a 10 o'clock brunch with Sara and Cecilia to plan a surprise birthday party.
She arrived at their favorite eatery early, as usual. At five after ten when her friends hadn't shown up, she called Cecilia.
"Hello?" Cecilia sounded out of breath.
"Where are you?"
"At home, doing aerobics."
"Aerobics? I'm waiting for you at the restaurant! Remember?" said Molly in frustration.
"Oops! I'm coming now."
Molly then called Sara. No answer. Five minutes later, she finally reached her.
"Where are you? Don't tell me you are still at home?" Molly asked.
"I'm on my way."
"Some people," Molly mumbled to herself after hanging up.
Molly didn't like to be late. Nor did she like others to be late. It made her feel ignored.
Sara and Cecilia finally arrived 45 minutes late.
"I'm so sorry," Sara apologized right away.
"You guys... All right, I'll let you off the hook because you're my friends. But next time..." leaning back with folded arms, Molly gave them a mock cold stare.
"Thank you," the other too chimed. Sara gladly accepted the pardon with a hug, and Cecilia with a big clown smile.
After the planning meeting, they went shopping for the party, which took no time. Shopping for the perfect dinner outfit, however, took most of the afternoon. That only left two hours for Molly to get ready for Sean. But as she stood on the platform, she was sure Sean would like the way she looked.
The sudden loud screeching sound of the approaching train brought Molly's attention back to the present.
